Today is the Day of your SALVATION (2 Cor 6;2)
The Lord is my light and my SALVATION (Psalm 27;1)
SALVATION
Salvation is a Gift from God and indeed God as the gift of himself, in which he alone gives all men freely of himself. Salvation is more than a repeat after me statement of faith, salvation is where we receives the Holy Ghost who imparts to the carnal man a new nature. Salvation is where a man is born of God, that is born of water and spirit he is born again (John 3;5) God becomes his Father. SALVATION comes from the Greek word ‘SOZO’ and means:-
- To save or deliver’
- To heal, cure, or make well
- To preserve or keep safe
- To find what is lost or repair what is broken
1.RESCUE FROM DESTRUCTION
Noah experienced the salvation of the Lord being saved from the flood. ‘And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;’ (2 Peter 2;5).
2.DELIVERANCE God’s people experienced salvation when they were delivered out of Egypt and freed from the rule oppression and bondage of Pharoah. They sang:- ‘He is become my salvation’ the Israelites sang after the LORD had delivered them through the red sea. The Lord that delivers us from all our Enemies. (Exodus 15:2).
Hannah was barren and the Lord gave here a son. She experienced salvation. ‘And Hannah prayed, and said, ‘My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy Salvation.’ (Exodus 15:2)
3.PROTECTION Psalm 18:2 King David was made king by the Lord. ‘The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.’
4.WHOLENESS and HEALING: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies… psalm 103:3,4).
5..A CLEAN TONGUE (New conversation) …Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. RENEWED YOUTH (Psalm 103:5).
6.THE REMISSION OF ALL SINS: Repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus for the remission of all your sins and ye shall recive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (ACTS 2:38).
These then are some of the benefits of salvation. Note that when a preacher prayers for salvation of others he should pray the prayer of faith. that the person will be saved baptised and filled with the Holy Ghost, healed, restored and delivered. Yes, healing and deliverance takes place at salvation.
Are you fully saved?
