Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel…(Psalm 2:1-9)

God sits as Judge in the courts of heaven having no law but his own. He has both salvation and damnation at his request and no one can question him. He putteth down one and arises another. The world is his diocese and even royalties, kings and princes are subject to him. Here in this scripture the earth v God case, kings are seen to mock him with their evil imagination, thinking that the silence of God is an indication of his absence from the affairs of man. He who sits in court however laughs and has them in derision, at odds against each other. but nothing can seriously come against him. while brutal kings plot war against each other thinking that political, economic and military power is in their hands, the heavenly king who has ‘all power’ sits and mocks them. Who knows the power of his wrath? ‘his fury is poured out like fire the rocks are thrown down by him, (Nahum 1;6). he shall have them in derision. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry deity (Hebrews 10;31).
They mock his absence where is GOD they cry? Is he asleep!
Ah but wait, The heavens declare his glory nature reveal his intentions. Man says he does not exist today, yet nature reveals his wrath in floods hail storms and fire. His voice is  still heard in the thunderous seas, the earthly elements declare his presence, their moving’s for destruction or satisfaction reveal his approval or displeasure. Nothing goes unnoticed, see his involvement. Nothing can pass his watchful eye.
Take heed saint fear not him that would seek to destroy your soul, fear God, for he is at work and has the rogue leaders in derision. Indeed it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God (Hebrews 10;31).
