Let us create man (Genesis 1;26).
Was God speaking to Jesus and the Holy Ghost
This is the trinitarian view of Genesis, God spoke Jesus created and the Holy Ghost breathed life. of course these three to a trinitarian are all persons. Let us further investigate the ‘let us’ of Genesis
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26).
In this scripture we find God himself speaking:_
Day One, God creates light And GOD said “Let there be light,” Day one, (v3)
Day Two God creates the heavens And GOD said “Let there be Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters,” Day two, (v6)
Day Three God creates the dry ground And GOD said “Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear” Day three, (v9)
Day Four, God creates the Sun, Moon and stars, And GOD said “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night,” Day four, (v9)
Day Five. God creates the fish and birds, And GOD said, “Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.,” (v20)
Day six God creates the land “And GOD said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so Let there be light,” (v24).
God said all these things. he spoke these things into existence and it was so
BUT when it comes to MAN the vocabulary changes in chapter two, although chapter one still states and God created man, 1;26 in chapter two we read ‘And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (2;6).
When God created the trees he spoke to the earth because the trees come out of the earth and go back to the earth. When God created the fish he spoke to the waters because the fish come out of the water and go back to the waters, but, When God created the stars in the heavens he spoke to the heavens because the stars come from the heavens and go back to the heavens. but when God creates MAN he spoke to himself because man comes from God and goes back to God
When I say Goes back to God I’m referring to the born again man the man in Christ, because it’s Christ that he came from and Christ he goes back to. Christ is his Savior and Christ is his life. Christ in you the hope of glory.
Finally why does it describes the LORD GOD that creates man, because the term LORD GOD depicts the God man. The Lord who is God. or the Jesus who is God it tells us therefore that of all the things created only MAN looks like God. nothing else. Man he said is created in his image and likeness. the Lord God.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. (Gen 2;21-23),
The same Lord God that made the man made the woman!
God is one and the one Lord God made one man. the one man looked like him. he did not make three men but one man. and the one man looked like him!
